| Bio: | This is my journal. Hi. I'm Patrick Burns. I'm 25. In the fall of 2007 I'll be attending Drexel University in Philadelphia, to pursue a degree in music recording and a Master's in Business through their (insert someone dead or who donated a lot of money) Music School, the only kind of which exists in this area. Which means I don't have to live in Florida (Full Sail) or commute to New York (SAE). Go me. This journal collects my thoughts, my highly opinionated opinions, my laments, my bitching, my occasional self-pity parties, occasional ridiculously irritated and/or angry and/or furious rants about people, and will occasionally read like the rantings of a really bored, drug-addled maniac. Which I am. It also ruins my exterior cool, aloof, mysterious persona and exposes me as a perverted geek who likes to talk too much and who has a horribly mean and sarcastic sense of humor. ...which I also am. But a lot of people like that, so fuck you. Most often, I talk about girls, music, girls, music, girls...and...m...man, I have like, no worthwhile thoughts except for girls and music. In my free and spare time, I like to make music and pretend I'm a big rock star. To date I've released the following albums: Don't Tell Her Everything (2001) Don't Tell Her Everything (2006 Re-Release w/different tracks) Scores Volume One: Fit To Be Admired (2006) Scores Volume Two: Another Sad Story (2007) Soon to come, I'll be releasing a couple more things: My Last Will And Testament EP (2007) The Things We Used To Be (single) (2007) Failure Of The Week (2007) Apparently being a musician gets you fame, money and girls. Well, I became pretty famous in Ohio's goth community and on the radio when I released my first album for my songs "Loveless" and "Whatever You Want" (did radio interviews, etc.), and, well, I sold a bunch of copies of my first album through MP3.com when it used to exist, and hopefully the upcoming albums will sell too, and, well, no, I've never gotten a girl through my music. I don't think that actually happens. Not in the type of music I make, anyway. Edit: I DO expect palecurve groupies at my shows. I better see some fucking goth chicks throwing their underwear on stage when I do the song "I Want A Goth Girl". I'll be touring in 2007 to support Failure Of The Week. So come out and see me grab my crotch, hump the microphone and wear tight leather pants with a black wifebeater. So far I've been assembling a band, and I have a loose configuration of a bass player, Jessie on guitar, and hopefully someone on another guitar, a drummer and someone on DAT/laptop/keyboard. This perception is backed up, to an extent, by his website, which alternately depicts him in states of fury and mere irritation. Rummaging a little further, and talking to him, one discovers a man of of tremendous humor and creativity. Over the past few years, PJ and I have worked together on everything from music to an abortive webmagazine to the colorization of Russian photographs from the early 20th century. He always manages to surprise me with his even-tempered, entirely original approach to things... even when he's extremely irritated, he expresses himself with poise and wit, and nobody else I know matches his ability to carry on an extended conversation which is always both intelligent and damn, damn funny. But I think what originally drew us together was just a shared love of creativity. Though we both go through ebbs and swells of this basic force, I don't think I've ever met anybody else who beats me in the desperate Renaissance man department... silly comics, downright excellent musical experiments - this guy even gets excited over making better and better HTML, for pete's sake! Even I can't match that, but it still makes him tremendously interesting to talk to. Granted, we can both get carried away on pointless flights of fancy, but when we're grounded, we brainstorm like nobody's business.
